The AIA New York State Design Awards celebrate outstanding architectural projects that push boundaries in innovation, creativity, sustainability, and impact on the built environment.
In 2026, we return to an in-person celebration in Princeton, NJ. Held the day before the AIA Tri-State Conference, the event offers an opportunity to celebrate New York’s design excellence as architects and designers from across the region gather for the week.
We invite architects, firms, and design professionals to submit work that elevates the profession and demonstrates the power of thoughtful, inspiring design.

Tri-State Opportunity
In addition to the AIANYS Design Awards, submit your work for consideration in the Tri-State Design Awards Program. Learn more upon registration or contact Cara Longobardi at clongobardi@aianys.org.
Submission Criteria
AIANYS Members | Projects may be located anywhere in the world. The submitting architect must be a licensed architect in New York State and an AIA New York State member.
Non-Members | Projects must be located within New York State. The submitting architect must be a licensed architect in New York State.
Deadlines & Schedule
August 10, 2026 | Submission registration, entry fee, and project upload due (Upload instructions provided in confirmation email)
August 26–27, 2026 (tentative) | Jury deliberations
November 3, 2026 | Design Awards Reception & Presentation | Hyatt Regency Princeton | Princeton, NJ
Entry Fees
- AIA New York State Members | $280 per entry
- Non-Members | $405 per entry
Cancellation Policy
Entries may be cancelled by August 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., less a $50 administrative fee.
All cancellation and refund requests must be emailed to clongobardi@aianys.org.
