This 2-hour, online training prepares building and design professionals in NYS to comply with the commercial mechanical, hot water, and lighting requirements in the 2020 ECCCNYS.

In this session, students will examine what makes a building envelope code compliant under the 2020 ECCCNYS commercial provisions.
This training is recommended for architects, engineers, code enforcement officials, contractors, building owners and operators and students working towards a career in the building industry.
By the end of this 2.5 hour training, participants will be able to:
- Understand how to identify the building thermal envelope and the different components that impact code compliance.
- Recognize the importance of the air barrier and the latest industry strategies to create a tight building envelope for improved efficiency and occupant comfort.
- Describe the ways that heat flows through the building envelope and learn how to find or calculate the needed thermal resistance for code compliance.
- Explain code criteria that limits energy losses from windows.

Jim is a certified Professional Engineer, LEED AP, and is certified by the Structural Engineering Certification Board. Jim has published and presented many times concerning green building, and previously taught 25+ Conquering the Code courses with Urban Green Council.
