Design Awards Return to the Spotlight
Since 1968, the American Institute of Architects New York State Design Awards have celebrated the very best in architectural achievement across New York State. Each year, this prestigious program recognizes exceptional work by licensed and registered architects practicing in New York, projects that demonstrate design excellence, technical expertise, innovation, and a profound commitment to enhancing the built environment.
AIANYS is excited to announce that the 2026 AIANYS Design Awards submission portal will officially open on Monday, June 15, 2026.
This year also marks a major milestone for the program: for the first time since 2019, the AIANYS Design Awards Celebration will return to an in-person format. The highly anticipated event will take place in conjunction with the 2026 Tri-State Conference in Princeton, NJ, bringing together architects and design professionals from across the region for a shared celebration of design excellence.
The 2026 AIANYS Design Awards Celebration will be held on Tuesday, November 3, at the Hyatt Regency Princeton.
In addition to the AIANYS Design Awards, firms will also have the opportunity to submit projects for the Tri-State Design Awards program, with additional details to be announced soon.
Mark your calendars, prepare your submissions, and join us this fall as we celebrate outstanding architecture and the return of an in-person design awards experience!
