Navigating Upcoming Changes to NYS Uniform & Energy Codes Updates for Architects

The webinar will provide attendees with a summary of anticipated changes to the NYS Uniform & Energy Codes which will incorporate the 2021 and 2024 applicable I-Codes. This course will cover potential changes, based on the proposed changes in the draft rules amending the NYS Uniform & Energy Codes, which were posted on March 19, 2025 by the NYS Department of State. The adoption and effective dates are still to be determined but are anticipated to be sometime in the fall of 2025.
The entire code course will be focused exclusively on the proposed New York State code amendments, which fundamentally impacts the health, safety, and well-being of all public using buildings and facilities as well as making sure design professionals have the information needed to make sure their designs are code compliant. The course will address both code changes and accessibility standard changes so applications of the proposed provisions can most effectively be addressed by Architects in their designs and understanding of such changes. The information provided will be based on significant changes in the I-Codes and proposed significant changes to the NYS Codes.
