Brooklyn Architects Scholarship Foundation, Inc.

Formed to raise funds for awarding architectural scholarships to qualified persons and to advance the architectural profession.

AIA Buffalo/Western NY

2016 AIA Buffalo/WNY Scholarship

The 2016 AIA Buffalo/WNY Scholarship Program is open to College/University students who meet academic requirements and are enrolled in a NAAB-accredited architecture program, or enrolled in program that has received NAAB ‘Candidacy’ status.

Applicants must be from the AIA Buffalo/Western New York Chapter which is comprised of all Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Orleans, or Wyoming Counties.

The AIA Buffalo/WNY Chapter with the Buffalo Architecture Foundation will dispense up to $5,000 in scholarship funding for 2016. Amounts awarded will depend on quantity and quality of applicants and will be applied to the 2016/2017 Academic Year. The AIA Buffalo/WNY Chapter scholarship is partially funded by a grant from AIA National.

Grants

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant 

To further the personal and professional development of an architect in early or midcareer through travel.

Deadline: November 1

 

Douglas Haskell Award for Student Journals

To encourage student journalism on architecture, planning and related subjects, and to foster regard for intelligent criticism among future professionals.

Eleanor Allwork Scholarship 

Merit-based scholarships support architecture students with demonstrated financial need.

Center for Architecture Design Scholarship

Merit-based scholarships that support students studying architecture or a related discipline with demonstrated financial need

Deadline: March 15

 

Walter A. Hunt, Jr. Scholarship 

A two-year scholarship to supplement tuition and related costs only for New York public high school students applying to NAAB-accredited schools of architecture in New York State.

Deadline: May 15

 

Awards

ENYA Merit Award

The purpose of the award is to recognize the significant contributions of members at an early stage of their career to the AIA New York Chapter and to congratulate them on achieving licensure. Awards are not based on financial need, as much as they are based on contributions the individual has made to their profession, their community and/or the AIA New York Chapter.

Women in Architecture Annual Recognition Award 

This award honors 1 recently licensed woman architect who demonstrates strong leadership skills and a commitment to the growth and advancement of our profession.  The winner receives a $1000 stipend towards travel and miscellaneous expenses at the AIA National Convention.

AIA Rochester

2016 AIA Rochester/Architectural Foundation Scholarship Program (In conjunction with AIA National & Bergmann Associates)

College Students:

Up to $12,000 in scholarships to be awarded.

APPLICANT CRITERIA: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a resident of Monroe, Wayne, Livingston, Ontario, Yates, Alleghany, Wyoming or Seneca Counties.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in an architecture NAAB degree for the Fall of 2016. All scholarship monies must be used towards education in the Fall of 2016.
  • Submit official and complete application on or before April 28, 2016 (mandatory for consideration

High School Students:

George Daddi Scholarship Program

Honoring the commitment, leadership and character of our Past Member Mr. George Daddi AIA. This 1500.00 Scholarship award is given in recognition of a student who has proved a dedication to the study of Architecture.

AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley

 

AIAWHV ARE Scholarship Program

The AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley (AIAWHV) Emerging Professionals Committee is proud to announce it has developed a scholarship program to encourage participation in the Architect Registration Examination (ARE).

This scholarship is intended to recognize Associate AIA members in the AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley  Chapter who have made significant contributions at an early stage in their careers to the profession and to encourage their pursuit of licensure.

Scholarships are awarded based on both a demonstration of financial need and the merits of the individual’s contributions to the profession, his/her community and/or the AIA.

A jury composed of distinguished professionals from the AIWHV Board of Directors, the AIA College of Fellows and AIAWHV Emerging Professional Committee will select the recipients.

Scholarship Grant I…Thesis Year Student(s) in the name of Aaron Resnick

Scholarship Grant II…Non-Thesis Year Student(s) in the name of Harvey Lewis

The grant program is open to students who are enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate in the fall

at an NAAB accredited school of architecture. Candidates must have their permanent address

within the chapter area (New York State Counties of Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange,

Sullivan, part of Ulster and part of Dutchess). Applicants for the thesis year grant must have

approval from their school for academic credit as their thesis to be completed within one year.
