Information for Lobby Day Schedule Registration Information Architects as Advocates for Improving Design and Construction Practice and Reforming Bidding Procedures   Architects drive the design/construction sector of our nation's gross domestic product , which represents over eight percent of the economy.  The AIA New York State supports a wide range of legislative issues to improve and enhance the built environment.  We support legislative initiatives on public procurement and project delivery methods, fair civil liability laws, professional licensing and continuing education.  The AIANYS supports the following legislative initiatives: Top Priorities:  Alternative Project Delivery Corporate Practice of Design Professionals Green Schools Construction  Support for Other Bills/Issues of Interest: Qualifications-Based Selection of Professional Design Services Smart Growth/Livable Communities Historic Preservation Tax Credit Good Samaritan Act Design Liability Reform Funding for Prosecution of Illegal Practice Bills Opposed: Construction Threshold Design Delegation Damages for Delay  A detailed description of each issue will be available prior to lobby day. Architects In Albany Lobby Day Schedule   Morning Activities:   Hampton Inn 25 Chapel Street Albany, New York 8:30 a.m. - Continental Breakfast 9:30 a.m. -  10:00 a.m. - Legislative Briefing Following the briefing, chapter scheduled meetings with legislators will start. There will be limited shuttle service from the Hampton Inn to the Capitol. Afternoon Activities:  Chapter scheduled meetings with legislators will continue. Lunch on Own - (restaurants on Concourse Level of Empire State Plaza). 5:00 - 6:15 p.m. - Legislative Reception (3rd Floor South Terrace, Legislative Office Building.)
