Peter Marino FAIA, is the principal of Peter Marino Architect PLLC, an internationally
acclaimed architecture, planning and design firm founded in 1978 and based in New York City.
Mr. Marino’s design contributions in the areas of commercial, cultural, residential and retail architecture have helped redefi ne modern luxury worldwide, emphasizing materiality, texture, scale, light and the constant dialogue between interior and exterior. He is widely known for his residential and retail designs for the most iconic names in the fashion and art worlds.
Currently, Mr. Marino is designing numerous private residences around the world, including St. Moritz, Aspen, London, Paris, Milan, New York, Santa Barbara, Palm Beach, Beirut and Gstaad. His cultural design projects include the Zwinger Porcelain Collection and Meissen Animal Gallery at the Dresden Museum in Germany and a 2010 retrospective of the work of Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France.
Mr. Marino has received numerous awards for his work. In his award portfolio is recognition from The American Institute of Architects, AIA New York State and the AIA New York Chapter as well as an MIPIM Architectural Review Future Project Awards Commendation for a mixed use development in Beirut.
In 2011 and 2010 Mr. Marino was among Architectural Digest’s AD 100, and in 2010 was named among the World’s Top 30 Architects by Robb Report. Each year, Interior Design magazine continues to recognize him as a Design Giant, and in 2006 he was named Most Influential by New York Magazine for his contributions in the Fashion industry.

Architects possess the best skills to become a developer yet many never pursue development which is more profitable. This session will address the key aspects than an architect needs to know to “crossover to the other side.” You will learn how to utilize your skill sets and how to make money as a developer.
In this interactive exchange the topics covered will be:
William “Billy” Procida is president of Procida Funding & Advisors, based in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. The firm specializes in providing management and capital for both distressed and value-added situations and manages The 100 Mile Fund, the third fund Mr. Procida has formed. During his 30-year career, Mr. Procida has completed several billion dollars in projects as financier, developer, builder and restructuring advisor.
From 2000 to 2008, Mr. Procida was the founding member and majority shareholder of Palisades Financial, which formed and managed two private equity funds. Palisades invested and managed over 100 positions including bridge loans and mezzanine loans. The firm’s loans and equity positions on assets were valued in excess of $1.5 billion. Its funds’ return to investors exceeded 15 percent annually during Mr. Procida’s tenure.
He was the recipient of the New York City Developer of the Year Award, The Governors Excellence Award and the National Association of Homebuilders’ Pillar of the Industry Award. The firm was also nationally ranked among America’s Top 400 contractors and listed on The Professional Builders 400 List.
In 1990, Procida took a leave of absence from TPO to take on a full-time assignment with the Trump Organization. During this time, Mr. Procida reported directly to Mr. Donald Trump on investments, which included casinos, airlines, real estate development, and sports franchises.
Mr. Procida’s career has been covered extensively by the press and he has become a regular fixture on national broadcast outlets, commenting on a range of topics. He has lectured on business and real estate at venues such as Yale University, Columbia University and New York University. He has also authored over 50 articles on the subject of real estate development, finance and the economy.

Down Detour Road, An Architect In Search of Practice
Eric Cesal
Eric is a designer, builder, analyst and writer. A native of Washington, D.C., Eric completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and achieved a Masters in Architecture, a Masters in Construction Management and an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from Washington University in St. Louis. In between he practiced in Washington, D.C., working primarily on educational and institutional projects.
Cesal began a career in humanitarian architecture as a volunteer on the Katrina reconstruction, spending time in both Biloxi, MS and New Orleans, LA working to establish community design programs. Somewhere along the way, Cesal wrote Down Detour Road: An Architect in Search of Practice, a novel about architecture, its place in the universe, and the importance of good dental hygiene.
Cesal is currently the Regional Program Manager for Architecture for Humanity in Haiti. He oversees all ground operations in Architecture for Humanity's Haiti Rebuilding Center, which encompasses architecture, community planning, economic development, technical assistance and design advocacy.
